CAM Construction Wins GHBA Houston’s Best PRISM Award

We are so honored to share that your CAM Construction team won the Houston’s Best PRISM Award from the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) for Remodeled Specialty Room.

For this project, the client wanted to update the kitchen/living space to be more functional and open with a more modern design. We refaced the fireplace with antique oak custom-milled slats, added new hearthstone and mantle and rebuilt the cabinets. We added antique oak ceiling beams, redid the wood floors and removed walls, countertop and cabinets to increase the opening to the kitchen. We opened up the stairwell and added a horizontal paneled wall. We built a stone waterfall island with antique oak base, relocated the cooktop and built custom cabinets (with antique glass paneled cabinets and exposed shelves). We oversized the kitchen window in bronze aluminum to give the look of steel. We added a bar/ butlers pantry, stacked subway tile backsplash to the ceiling for a dramatic design effect and all new lighting, wood flooring and appliances. For the breakfast nook, we built a custom banquet.

The GHBA Houston’s Best PRISM Awards are an annual event designed to recognize excellence within Houston’s homebuilding industry and to support their efforts. The year’s award recipients were chosen by a panel of premier industry professionals from around the country.

Judging criteria varied according to the category, but all category winners were required to be active members of the GHBA in good standing, and to have shown commitment and excellence to the homebuilding industry as a whole.
